James M. Costello Obituary
James M Costello 94, a long time Norwalk resident passed away peacefully at his home on December 4, 2024. He was born in Manhattan, NY on January 28th 1930 to James Costello and Ellen Murray Costello. His early years were spent in Wakefield Mass where he graduated from local schools. After serving in the Marine Corps during the Korean conflict, he graduated from Northeastern University with a Bachelors degree and New York University with a Masters of Business Administration. He retired from IBM after a long career in financial management.
He is survived by Nancy Dickinson Costello his loving wife of 65 years, his four children: James M Jr and wife Laura of Granville Mass., Ellen and husband Dr Robert Primeau of Newport, Vermont, Clare and husband Robert Gelissen of Southbury, Connecticut and Ann Costello of Norwalk as well as his six grandchildren Sean Costello, Tucker Costello, Dr. Julia Gelissen, Zachary Gelissen, Russell Primeau and Genevieve Primeau.
He was predeceased by his parents and two sisters Patricia Forte and Claire Cottle.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St Jerome's Church 23 Half Mile Road, Norwalk on December 14, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. The family will receive guests beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the church. Interment at St Patrick's cemetery in Stoneham, Mass will be at a later date.
