Elizabeth Ann Dunne Obituary

Elizabeth Ann Dunne, 86, died on Sunday, March 9, 2025 at Notre Dame Health & Rehab. Center in Norwalk. Born in Stamford, the daughter of the late Michael P. and Elizabeth (Hannigan) Dunne, she was also predeceased by her aunt Agnes Hannigan and close friend Joan Auch. She is survived by close friends; Sr. Sally, Sr. Lucie, Elena Trosti and Barbara O'Brien.

Her career was in Fortune 500 companies, but her life's work was more in tune with church life and philanthropy. Her parents taught her to put her treasures to the service of the church at a young age. Growing up at St. Clement's Church in Stamford, she was a member of the Rosary Society, and was a member of St. Matthew Church in Norwalk for over 40 years, where she dedicated her time and talents to the church community. She was a member of the Currency Engineers, St. Martha's Hospitality and worked for a time in the parish office. She was always generous with her time and made significant impacts on the mission of the church through her philanthropic contributions to the church expansion, Parish renovations and the Msgr. Walter Orlowski Recreation Wellness Center. She was awarded the St. Augustine Medal of Service by the Diocese of Bridgeport, in 2018, and the Benemerenti Medal, awarded by the Pope to recognize exceptional service to the Catholic Church.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10AM on Thursday, March 13 at St. Matthew Church, Norwalk, with burial to follow at St. John Cemetery, Darien.
