Caryn I. Raimondi Obituary
Caryn Signer Raimondi, 63, of Norwalk, passed away suddenly on November 8, 2023, at Norwalk Hospital surrounded by family and friends. Born in the Bronx and raised in Yonkers, NY, Caryn, the daughter of William and Bernice (Speisman). Signer is survived by her brother Robert Signer of White Plains, her loving cousins Leah, Anna, Ruth, Marlene, Larry and Sheila, numerous friends including Michael (Mickey) Raimondi, and her beloved husky Shiloh.
Caryn worked as an Administrative Assistant in the Tax Department at R.T. Vanderbilt Holding Company in East Norwalk. Caryn is remembered by co-workers – and everyone else she befriended – as always having a smile on her face while making invaluable contributions and a possessing a spirit that was enlightening. That smile could and did brighten many a day.
Caryn was a vibrant and active community member in many different ways. Some of her passions included working both back of house as a stage manager as well as on stage in local theater companies such as CONNECTICUT PLAYMAKERS, Curtain Call Wilton Playgroup among others. She did this with her traditional joyful nature (cast in the role of the matchmaker in Crossing Delancy in 2010, Caryn wrote "I get to play a Jewish matchmaker in Crossing Delancey - Hmm think a Jew from the Bronx can play a Jew from the Lower East Side?????") – and of course she did a great job.
Caryn was an active member of the Republican Town Committee and was a seasoned veteran of elections, having presided over countless Norwalk polling sites as head moderator on Election Day. Her commitment to the democratic process was unwavering and volunteering was second nature to her.
Caryn's love for music and live bands was well-known and she enjoyed sharing these passions. It was at the summer concerts held at Calf Pasture Beach during Covid that Caryn met a group of likeminded friends who loved music and dancing. This new friendship led to her membership at the Saint Ann's Club where she joined the Entertainment Committee, identifying and helping to organize activities such as a recent Halloween party and various parties and concerts for the members and the local community – a perfect role for her with her love for music and local performer/band connections.
Those who knew Caryn knew Shiloh, her beautiful husky companion, who brought immeasurable joy into her life. Her smile was never as wide as when she was talking about or playing with Shiloh. Including when they were at doggy daycare at Dogtopia where they made many friends.
The sudden loss of Caryn has sent shockwaves through every life she touched. She will be sorely missed as a beloved family member, co-worker and friend. In 2011 she shared the following thought which is so very meaningful right now – "We need to treasure our time here on earth and make the most of every moment - you just never know when things can change.". Things have changed with Caryn's passing but we all know she would want her family and friends to embrace life fully, as she did.
Please join her family as they receive friends on Friday, November 10 from 2-6 PM at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Avenue, Norwalk. The Saint Ann's Club Ladies Auxiliary will gather at 5:30 p.m. to pay their respects to their beloved member.
A scholarship fund is being created in Caryn's memory. Memorial donation details will be updated here as available.
