She was predeceased by: her parents, Couzone Newell and Lillie Newell; her husband Ozie Mikel; and her siblings, Delaunce Ellis Newell, Linda Prescott and Vanessa "Wanda" Newell.
She is survived by: her children, Ozie Mikel Jr. (Willow) of Ledyard, CT, Shirley Mikel (Wayne) of Greenwich, CT, Stephen Mikel, Kenneth Mikel of Stamford, CT, Valerie Mikel of Port Chester, NY, Lyneal Mikel of Stamford, CT, Sean Mikel of Charlotte, N. C. and Vanessa Mikel of Stamford, CT; her grandchildren, Nina Simmons, Honee Mikel, Amber Mikel, Grant Longmire, Jackie Mikel, Dylan Moye, Isaac Widomski, Enellie Mikel and Blake Mikel; her great grandchildren, Armani McCollum, Xayvion Mikel, Christian Herring, Ashley Herring and Ethan Moye; her granddaughter Harmony Mikel; her children, Jasmine "Kate" Newell, Joy Newell, Rishay Addison, Robert Gardner and Johnnie Gardner; her grandchildren, Lily Newell, Tyree Newell, Caleb Newell, LaNya Prescott, JaMare Pugh, DJ and Addison; and her brother Arthur Tweedie.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the Baker Funeral Services (84 S Main St, Norwalk, CT 06854). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
