He was predeceased by: his parents, Matthew Thomas Hoey Jr. and Mary Jo Hoey (Quigley); his stepmother Priscilla Hoey; and his stepbrother Andrew Cattaneo. He is survived by: his wife Joan Hoey (Calabrese); and his brothers, Matthew T. Hoey III, David Hoey of Old Saybrook, CT, Joseph Hoey of Madison, WI and Daniel Hoey of Vero Beach, FL..
