He was predeceased by: his wife Betsy McAvoy (Smith); his parents, Daniel McAvoy and Levina McAvoy (Stott); and his siblings, Edward McAvoy, Levina Crandall, Daniel McAvoy and Thomas Noel McAvoy.
He is survived by: his children, Kathleen Lucas, Michael McAvoy (Barbara) and Thomas McAvoy (Carolyn); and his siblings, Elizabeth McAvoy and Hugh McAvoy. He is also survived by six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren.
