He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Abel and Rosella Abel; his daughter Stephanie; his grandson Shawn; and his brother-in-law Denis St. Amand.

He is survived by: his wife Louise; his children, Wanda Parker (James), Danny Abel (Petra), Pamela Branche (David) of Preston, CT and Patrick Abel; his stepdaughters, Sarah Proulx (Steven) of West Warwick, RI and Cora Araujo (Brian) of West Warwick, RI; his brothers, Thomas Abel (Lois) and Tony Abel; his grandchildren, Eric, Nicholas, Rebecca, Rachel, Cheryl, Scott, Lindsey, Amber, Emily and Bryan; his great grandchildren, Tyler, Brook, Matthew, Alyssa, Lilliana, Hazel Renee and Avery; and his siblings-in-law, Paul St. Amand (Susan), Ann-Marie Kelly, Maggie Leroux and Shirley St. Amand. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
