He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Marjorie Elizabeth Gillie and Robert B. Gillie; his wife Polly Dubuque Gillie; his children, R. Bowen Gillie and Anne Gillie Pytka (Zach); and his brother R. Brian Gillie.
