He was predeceased by: his parents, Dominic Palermo and Anna Taneszio Palermo; and his siblings, Lorraine D'Addio (Michael) of New Haven, Raymond (Evelyn), Mary Piccirillo (Fred) and Madeline Palermo.
He is survived by: his sons, Nicholas D. Palermo, Jr. (Vivian) of Naples and James D. Palermo of North Haven; his grandsons, Nicholas D. Palermo III of West Haven and Carmine Palermo (Danielle) of Naples; his great grandchild Gianna Palermo; and his sister Lucille Virgulto (late James) of Northford. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
