It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joan Marie Ricci Mazurek (North Haven, Connecticut), who passed away on April 9, 2024, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Robert A. Mazurek Sr.; her parents, Anthony Ricci and Marie Josephine Bristol Ricci; her siblings, George (Helen) and Elizabeth; and her nephew Michael Ricci.

She is survived by: her brothers, Robert Ricci (Marilyn) and Richard Ricci (Ann); her nephews, Peter Kurtin, Chris Kurtin (Christina) and Robert Kurtin (Kristen); and her niece Kimberly Walsh (Sean).

Last time we went to a commission meeting about Peter's Rock, I got up and said some things, and she said that I was very histrionic. O.K. She forgot how many times I had to listen to her. She was great, determined, and very well informed. She singly created a long stall to keep Peter's Rock intact. She is my hero and a long time friend and I will miss her so much. Heidi”
