He was predeceased by: his parents, Gennaro Cannavaciolo and Elizabeth Carbone Cannavaciolo (Alice); his brothers, Joseph and Jerry Canna; and his brother-in-law Robert East.
He is survived by: his wife Albina Sacco Cannavaciolo; his children, Teresa Souza of Windsor, Lisa Ferris (Franklin Welch) of Largo, Florida and Alphonse Jr. (Lisa); his grandchildren, Daniel and Alyssa Cannavaciolo of North Haven; his sisters, Anna Buono (Alfred) of Northford, Elizabeth East of North Haven and Geraldine "Jeanne" Mioline (William) of Branford; and his sisters-in-law, Lillian Canna of Northford and Alice Canna of Orange. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
