He was predeceased by: his parents, William Smith and Agnes Smith of Ansonia, CT.; his wife Elizabeth "Betty" Smith; and his siblings, James Smith and Jeanne Walsh.
He is survived by: his sons, Robert Smith of Newington and Brian Smith (Penny) of North Branford. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Augustine Church (30 Caputo Rd, North Branford, CT 06471). A burial will be held on Wednesday, January 22nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the State Veterans Cemetery (317 Bow Ln, Middletown, CT 06457).
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
