He was predeceased by: his parents, James E. Darby and Mary Moran Darby; his friend Bill Murphy; his granddaughter Josephine; and his siblings, John H. Darby and Rosemary Slattery.
He is survived by: his uncle Sam; his children, James E. Darby III (Carrie), Mary Rose Darby, William R. Darby (Darcy) and Sean P. Darby (Claudine); his grandchildren, Jessica, James IV, Marco, Emily, Sarah, Stephanie, Jennifer, Megan, Nicholas, Connor and Caitlyn; and his great grandchildren, Lucas, Adalyn and Brooklyn.
