Navy Veteran; his children, Adrienne Merola Kerst (Jim) and Robert Merola; his siblings, Lawrence Merola, Edward E. Merola and Agnes Amarante; his grandchildren, Jeremy Shoffstall, Holli Shoffstall Hopkins and Grant Merola; his great grandchildren, Brody and Harper Hopkins; and his sister Jane Giaccio. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, Mr. Merola asked that memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
