He is survived by: his children, William Dowling III (Kathy) of Watertown, Dion Dowling (Tara Lee) of Niantic, David Dowling (Julie) of Niantic, Patrick Dowling of Niantic and Tara Anne Dowling (Richard Davis); and his brother James Dowling of Middlefield. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren.
