He is survived by: his wife Nancy D'Amato (McGrath); his children, Brian D'Amato (Gina Batali) of Arizona, Diane D'Amato of Niantic, Keith D'Amato (Cathy) of Berlin and Donna D'Amato (Steven Matthess) of North Franklin; his grandchildren, Michael D'Amato (Yvonne), Carly D'Amato (Joe Gildner), Natalie D'Amato, Melissa Rahn (Kevin), Shawn Martin (Samantha), Carina Keenan (Matthew), Lia McDermott (Matthew), Nina D'Amato (Benjamin Floch), Jenna Vinelli, Zachary Vinelli and Ethan Vinelli; his great grandchild Nora Keenan; his siblings, Donald D'Amato (Judy), Laura Gett and Amanda DelMastro (Edward); and his brother-in-law Henry Adamowicz. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends.
A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the St. Agnes Church (22 Haigh Ave, Niantic, CT 06357). A burial was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Connecticut State Veteran Cemetery (317 Bow Ln, Middletown, CT 06457).
