He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph L. Selden and Ruth Coles Selden; and his siblings, David H. Selden, Kenneth J. Selden and June C. Bull.
He is survived by: his wife Susan Selden; his children, Joseph L. Selden, III of Niantic and Dawn Swope of Old Lyme; his grandson Joseph L. Selden, IV of New London; his great grandchild Dominick Robinson of Groton; and his sister Mary Jane Peterson of Gales Ferry. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
