It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Albert Piela Jr. of Niantic, Connecticut, who passed away on November 12, 2024, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Albert Piela Jr. to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Piela Sr. and Elsie Green. He is survived by: his wife Mary Jane Kilpatrick Piela; his children, Bo (Catherine Piela), David Piela of Newington, CT, Christopher Piela (Cina Welch) and Suzanne (Peter Neubauer); his stepchildren, Kristin, Abran Smith of Chester, CT, Michael and Marisa Lester of Waterford, CT; his grandchildren, David, Hannah Neubauer, Caroline Neubauer, Madeline, Meredith Piela, Spencer, Skylar, Sylvie Piela, Kelsie, Josie Piela, Rosie, Evelyn, Amelia Smith, Patrick, Nodian Lester, Alexander and Nicholas Lester; and his great grandchild Riley Lester. He is also survived by many in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 29th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Byles-Groton Memorial (310 Thames St, Groton, CT 06340). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 30th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the First Congregational Church of Old Lyme (4 Lyme St, Old Lyme, CT 06371).
