It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jo-Ann Sumple of Newtown, Connecticut, who passed away on August 13, 2023, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Pelletier and Alma Pelletier (Borghi); and her sister Linda. She is survived by: her sister Barbara; her children, Tracey, Paula, David, Stephen (Pam) and Michael; and her grandchildren, Brianna, Emily, Kalie, Thomas, Madelyn, Emma, Jake, Will and Jack.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the charity of your choice.

“Dear Stephen and Brianna, I write to you both because I know you, but I send my sympathy to your entire family. JoAnn and I worked together for years. On a dismal, dark day filled with stress, I could count on JoAnn to bring the humor and put our troubles in perspective. She was so good to the patients in her care, and she was kind and generous to the staff who worked with her. I loved her tales of her beloved dog Hank, and her love and compassion for all animals.
