He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Oakes and Evangeline Tardif (Thomas); his daughter Jessica; his brother Leonard Oakes; and his brother-in-law James Cyr.
He is survived by: his wife Lise Oakes (Roy); his daughters, Ashley Oakes (Jake) and Meghan Erkson (Josh); his siblings, Stanley Oakes, George Oakes (Donna), Andre Tardif (Jacqueline), Gladys Cyr and Debbie Soucy (Robert); and his sister-in-law Susan Oakes. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
