He was predeceased by: his wife Irene Hammarlund (Hempel); his parents, Arthur Hammarlund and Lillian Hammarlund (Wrynn); and his brother Arthur Hammarlund, Jr.. He is survived by: his children, Robert W. Hammarlund, Jr. of San Diego, CA, John Hammarlund (Deborah) of Plantsville and Susan Schroeder (Chris) of Newington; his grandchildren, Sara Lundin (Erik), Erica Pellett (William), Carly Lennon (Daniel), Jessica, Kevin, Meghan and Ryan Hammarlund; his great grandchildren, Evan, Owen Lundin, William Pellett, Jr., Ellie and Daniel Lennon, Jr.; his sister Ann Withrow; and also, Dan and Sue DeLuca. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
