He was predeceased by: his parents, Jose Gomes and Margarida Gomes (Cardoso); his daughter-in-law Marguerite "Maggie" Gomes; his siblings, Carlos, Iricema of Brazil and Dirce; and his brother-in-law Antonio Dias.
He is survived by: his siblings, Freixiosa and Portugal; his wife Luisa Gomes (Almeida); and his children, Joseph Gomes of West Hartford, Mingo Gomes (Diane Czyzniak) of Suffield, Maria (Brian Bouthiller), Natalie (Robert Botticello) and Jackie Bonetti of Canton. He is also survived by several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
