He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Doherty and Catherine Doherty (Morrison); and his sisters, Jane O'Donoghue and Elizabeth O'Connor. He is survived by: his wife Meg; his children, Joan Elizabeth Darling (David) of Killingworth, Maura Patricia Thompson (DJ) of Higganum and John Tynan Doherty (Carrie) of Ellington; and his great grandchild Addison Elizabeth Mack. He is also survived by children, their spouses and six grandchildren.
