William N. Pinto Jr. Obituary

William Nicholas Pinto, Jr. passed away peacefully on February 12, 2025 in New Milford, Connecticut. In the weeks prior to his passing he was surrounded by his loving family sharing stories, music, jokes, laughter and tears. He was celebrated on his 90th birthday last year with a gathering of family and longtime friends. If you knew "BIPI" you'll always remember his smile and laughter that lit up the room.

He was born on October 31, 1934, to first generation Italian parents, William and Filomena Pinto, who came to the United States in 1921. "Billy" as his siblings called him, was the youngest of six children (Victoria, Frances, Louis, Rose, Lucy, William). The family was raised in Norwalk, Connecticut where he graduated from Norwalk High School in 1952. The stories and memories they have shared throughout the years are a testament to their proud family and Italian heritage.

Bill served in the US Marines from 1953 to 1956, achieving the rank of Corporal. As a rifleman and professional technical helper he earned a national defense service medal and a good conduct medal. He was proud of his service and his commitment to his country and continued to serve in the reserves from 1956 to 1960.

Bill is predeceased by his beloved wife Jeanne (2024) and survived by his five children Michelle, Pamela, Patricia, Lisa and Marcus. At the time of his death he was "Pop" to eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. His legacy of service, love, and dedication will forever be cherished by his family and friends.

His family will receive friends at Magner Funeral Home located at 12 Mott Avenue, Norwalk, Connecticut on Friday, February 21st from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home at 10:00 AM on Saturday, Feb 22nd, followed by a burial with full military honors at St. John Cemetery at 223 Richards Ave, Norwalk, Connecticut on Saturday, February.

22nd at 10:45 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Homes For Our Troops (hfotusa.org), in William Pinto, Jr's memory, to support housing and successful homeownership for our veterans.
