With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Ruth R. Hornyak (New Milford, Connecticut), born in Oakland, New Jersey, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. She was predeceased by: her parents, Benjamin Ritter and Florence Ritter (Beller); her husband William J. Hornyak Sr.; her sons, Robert C. Hornyak of New Milford and James J. Hornyak; her daughter-in-law Jane Hornyak; and her brother Benjamin Ritter.
She is survived by: her children, William J. Hornyak Jr. of Westport, Elinor R. Platt, Doug of Sarasota, FL and Nancy Jerolmon; and her daughter-in-law Denise Hornyak of Newtown. She is also survived by her 12 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the New Milford Senior Center, Phelan-McDermid Syndrome Foundation (pmsf.org) where she supported her daughter, Elinor's work and the work the organization does for children, or any local animal welfare center.
