He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer K. Carlson and Olga Carlson (Sleights); his daughter Jacquelyn M. Tuttle; his nephews, Daniel and Scott Awker; and his brother-in-law Bruce Abbott.

He is survived by: his sisters, Janice Carlson of New London, Karen Burgess (Charles) of Waterford and Jeanette Abbott of Oswego, N. Y.; his grandson William D. Tuttle of Harrisburg; and his nieces, Vicky Spooner (Mike), Heather O'Shea (Jim) and Regina Broome (Jack).
