He was predeceased by: his parents, William Henry Sousa, Sr. and Edith Elizabeth Bradley Sousa; his wife Sonya Williamson Sousa; and his siblings, John Murphy, William Henry Sousa, Jr., Thomas Sousa, James Sousa, Frances Correll, Leona Roman, Sharon Allen and Jacqueline Chiffon.
He is survived by: his son John P. Sousa, Jr. of New Haven; his sisters, Geraldine Bradley Wilson of Greensberg and Holly Sousa Drinkall of New London; and his godson Brandon Brown of Westerly. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
