John C. Melia Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John C. Melia (New London, Connecticut), born in Brooklyn, New York, who passed away on December 7, 2021 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Christopher Melia and Alice Melia (Neville); his wife Mary Doherty; his uncle Alexander P. Lamb; and his son John S. Melia.

He is survived by: his daughters, Anne Marie McParland (Melia) and Kathleen Morton (Melia); his grandson Donald Morton III (Amy); his great grandchildren, Joshua and Briella; his grandchildren, John Melia Jr. (Natasha), Marylin Shukis (Joshua), Andrew Melia and Patrick McParland; his great grandchild Riley; his granddaughter Meghan Nadel (Steven); and also, Stephen Doherty (Kathy), Ann, Erin, John Doherty, Sean, Kathleen Bergeron (Peter), Brian, Meghan Bergeron, Peter and Christopher Comfort.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Animal Welfare League of Southeastern CT, Saint Jude Children's Hospital or the Wounded Warrior Project.
