The memory of Rita Monaco of New Haven, Connecticut, who passed away on January 23, 2025 at the age of 91, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. She was predeceased by: her parents, Antonio Veiga and Maria Veiga; her husband Stephen W. Monaco; and her brothers, Charles, Joseph, Alfred Veiga, Manuel and Jose Lima.
She is survived by: her sisters, Elaine Marreiros of Hamden, Virginia Puzzo, Georgiana Contento, Cristina Raposa and Gilda Lima. She is also survived by her 4 sons, 4 loving daughter in laws, 4 granddaughters and 5 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the East Haven Memorial Funeral Home (425 Main St, East Haven, CT 06512). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Our Lady of Pompeii Church (355 Foxon Rd, East Haven, CT 06513).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Rita's name to the Alzheimer's Association or the Mary Wade Home 118 Clinton Ave New Haven, CT 06513.
