She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest O. Johnson and Elsie Johnson (Freeman); her siblings, Natalie Johnson Moore, Maybelle Johnson and Ernest O. "Buddy" Johnson, Jr.; and her son Scott David Taylor.
She is survived by: her husband Reuben Taylor; her daughter Lisa Taylor; her grandchildren, Dr. Tiana Taylor Shabazz (Mustafa Shabazz) and Scott Taylor II; her great grandchildren, Nazir Mustafa Shabazz, Zakir Mustafa Shabazz and Scott David Taylor III; and her caregiver Kathryn Nelson Hagen. She is also survived by loving friends, nieces, nephews, godchildren and cousins.
Visitation was held on Monday, April 7th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Dixwell Avenue Congregational United Church of Christ (217 Dixwell Ave, New Haven, CT 06511). A celebration of life was held on Monday, April 7th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, April 7th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Evergreen Cemetery - New Haven (769 Ella T Grasso Blvd, New Haven, CT 06519).
