With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Margaret J. Lewis of New Haven, Connecticut, born in Darlington, South Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 1, 2024 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Moses Jerry and Adell Jerry (Wiles); her siblings, Roosevelt Jerry, Eddie Boston and Josephine Bull; and her daughter Sandra Denise Sheffield.
She is survived by: her sons, Kevin Lewis, Terry Lewis (Latarsha), Robby Lewis and Darrow Lewis; her grandchildren, Tanaia Sheffield, Travis Sheffeild, Jennifer Lewis Adeniran, Kathryn Palmer Thomas, Treasuana Lewis, Jordan Lewis, Tamara DeBerry, Terrell Lewis, Terry Lewis, II, Delisha Lewis, Trey Cousins, Michael Hasty, Ashley Lewis, Laquitda Perkins, Denise Lewis Ketto and Krista Lewis; her great grandchildren, Noah Quaye, Mayah Adeniran, Leroy DeBerry, III, Aniya DeBerry, Terry Lewis, III, Ezrah Lewis, Pierce Lewis, Jeremiah Dawson, Dakota Cousins, Taylor Cousins, Naomi Cousins and Landon'Kyle Moore; and her friend Ollie Ferrar.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Christian Love Center (154 Derby Ave, New Haven, CT 06511). A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Beaverdale Memorial Park (90 Pine Rock Ave, New Haven, CT 06515).
