She was predeceased by: her parents, Elijah Harper and Annie Mae Harper; her friend Betty Stewart; her aunt Jannie Strong; her siblings, Gladys, Annie, Susan, Serena, Horace "Buddy" and Jasper Jr.; her great grandchild Noah D. Lisbon; and her son Brian K. Howard.
She is survived by: her former husband Jasper Edwards Sr.; her children, Gregory L. Howard Sr. and Sharon L. Howard of New Haven, CT.; her brothers, Larry, Leonard, Charlie, Anthony Edwards and Salim Saafir; and her grandchildren, Gregory L. Howard Jr., Sean M. Shaw (Mickeya), Michael J. Howard Sr., Toya S. Lisbon (David), Brandon L. Shaw (Shayla), Marquis D. Richardson Sr. (Toni), Jordan J. Howard and Brittany C. Howard. She is also survived by eighteen great-grandchildren.
The year 2022 brought significant challenges for Lillian as she contracted COVID-19 while in Yale New Haven Hospital, which led to an undetected stroke.
