She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Ernst Haws and Gabriella Spooner Dunn; and her siblings, Robert Haws of Hawaii and Jean Brown of Princeton. She is survived by: her husband Carl Richard Woese; her children, Gabriella and Robert of Atlanta; her nieces, Dr. Deborah Carver of New York City, Robin Kaimikaua of Hawaii, Cynthia Haws of Hawaii and Gay Miller of New York City; and her nephew Peter Miller of California.
