It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ernest James Green Sr. (New Haven, Connecticut), born in Darlington, South Carolina, who passed away on November 23, 2024, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. In the vast expanse of eternity, may Ernest James find peace everlasting, cradled in the gentle embrace of the universe. And as we stand on the shores of remembrance, may his legacy inspire us to live each day with purpose, passion, and profound gratitude for the gift of life itself.
He was predeceased by: his wife Annie Green; and his sons, Eric Green, John Gray and Gordon Green. He is survived by: his children, Myles Green (Renee), Lisa Green, Ernest Green, Jr. (Marion), Brian Gray and Linda Brown. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren, along with a host of extended family.
Visitation was held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM at the St. Matthew's Unison Free Will Baptist Church (400 Dixwell Ave, New Haven, CT 06511). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 at 9:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Evergreen Cemetery - New Haven (769 Ella T Grasso Blvd, New Haven, CT 06519).
