Elizabeth Syliva Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Elizabeth Syliva of New Haven, Connecticut, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 27, 2024 at the age of 72. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Fannie McCargo and William McCargo; her husband John M. Sylvia; and her siblings, William, Thomas, John, Annabelle and Gayle.
She is survived by: her daughter Fiona Sylvia; her stepchildren, John Sylvia, Antoinette Cothran (Kevin), Kevin Sylvia (Llidia) and Deborah Akey (Jarrod); her sister Melvenia M. Hylton (Rudy); and her sister-in-law Emma McCargo. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Christian Tabernacle Baptist Church (425 Newhall St, Hamden, CT 06517). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
