He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Haeckel and Lillian Tucker (Robertson); his wife Mary Haeckel (Sumecki); and his siblings, Tom Haeckel, Barbara Mock and Beverly Haeckel.
He is survived by: his sons, Brian Haeckel (Kimberly) of Northford and Mark Haeckel (Nicole) of North Haven; his grandchildren, Julia, Jake, Jason, Jessica and Devin Haeckel; his siblings, Karen Murphy, Gary Haeckel and Elaine Coleman; and his nephews, Carle, Earle, Alan and Andrew Mock of Nebraska. He is also survived by numerous nieces/nephews and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home & Cremation Service (43 Kirkham Ave, East Haven, CT 06512). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 6:30 PM to 6:45 PM at the same location.
