She was predeceased by: her parent Elinora Gretchen Steadwell; her siblings, Robert Chambers and Charlotte Chambers; and her nephew Shaka Sykes. She is survived by: her parent Etelka Miller; her husband Calvin DeLoatch; her sons, Andre J. Downey (Kasmera Downey), David Rey Jr., Davin M. DeLoatch, Sr. (Teresa DeLoatch) and Jamal DeLoatch; her siblings, Anne Marie Douglas of New Haven, Louis R. Steadwell of Washington, D. C., Chauncey R. Steadwell of Clearmont, Sarah L. Miller-Brooks of Guilford and Eric J. Miller of New Haven, Connecticut.; her grandchildren, Quandisha Deloatch-Green, Shanequa Rey and Davin M. DeLoatch; and her godchildren, Nikki Hamlett-Nunes, Courtney Barnes, Laura Steadwell and Tarik Sams.
