He was predeceased by: his parents, Juan Roman and Philomena Roman; and his wife Matilda Dawson-Roman. He is survived by: his sons, Domin Roman (Ouida) and Juan Roman (Tonya); his grandchildren, Lisa, Javonne, Jessica, Jasmine, Terrell, Iyonna, Cherish and Tera Roman; his nephews, Angelo, Norberto Lopez, Nelson Lopez, Elias Lopez and Manix Lopez; his niece Carmen Cuevas; and also James Dawson. He is also survived by 15 great grandchild.
