She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Whitney and Helen Whitney; and her former husband George Swope. She is survived by: her husband John H. Trumbull; her siblings, Kate Wilson, Ruth White, Barbara Cenich and Frank Whitney; and her granddaughter Loretta Swope (Etta).

Donations in Loretta's name may be made to the music program at Trinity Episcopal Church, Torrington, or to any Golden Retriever Rescue in Connecticut.
