She was predeceased by: her husband Herbert Spencer; and her parents, Theodore Lawshe and Gertrude Lawshe (Stevenson). She is survived by: her children, Charles "Chuck" Shirley (Catherine) of Winsted and Elizabeth Thomas (John); and her siblings, Theodore "Ted" Lawshe (Sandy) of West Harttford and Joann Howell. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren.
