He was predeceased by: his parents, Ethel Ackerman and William Ackerman. He is survived by: his wife Dr. Cece McCarton; his sister Barbara Leish; his children, Elizabeth Valins, Rebecca Antista and McCarton Ackerman; and his stepchildren, Sara Daum and Michael Daum. He is also survived by eight grandchildren.
