He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Katherine Sullivan Ahern and James Michael Ahern; his wife Gail; his children, Keelin Kirt, Brendan Ahern and Ashling Besgen; and his sister Susan Ahern. He was also cherished by nine grandchildren.
