He was predeceased by: his parents, Sturtevant Erdmann and Wilma Kohler Erdmann. He is survived by: his wife Tanis Higgins; his son John F. Erdmann III (Jeff); his daughters-in-law, Barbara (Gregory Sturtevant Erdmann), Lisa (Robert Higgins Erdmann) and Shannon; his grandchildren, Thomas, Charles, William Erdmann, Jessica, Annabelle Erdmann, Tyler and Jack Erdmann; and his sisters, Judith Makrianes and Pamela Erdmann.
In lieu of flowers, donations in John's memory can be made to the Norwalk Maritime Aquarium.
