He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary (Calvo) and Howard Asal Sr.; and his brother Donald Asal. He is survived by: his wife Margaret [Marge] Asal (Bellini); his children, Diana Bisson (John), Christine Asal and Ron Asal Jr. (Maria); his grandsons, Jordan Mignault, Kyle Bisson, Cayden and Troy Asal; his stepgrandchildren, Julian and Juliana Rivera; and his brothers, Howard Asal Jr. and Robert Asal Sr. (Marilyn). He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
