She was predeceased by: her parents, Dillard Nared and Sindy Wright; her husband Nathaniel Garner; her daughters, Thelma Aiken and Felicia Pitts; her siblings, Sarah Thomas and Frank Nared; her niece Sarah; her close friends, Mabel Moore, Lucille Simms and Vanard "Tony" Dawkins; and her son-in-law Joseph Aiken.

She is survived by: her grandchildren, Tyrone (Daisy), Eddie (Pam), Charlene, LaDwan, Sharika, Stephanie (Colin) and Eric (Stachia); her great grandchildren, Tyrone, Jasmine, Marcus, Kristen, Stephanie (Lanette), Chelsea, Brittany, Cameron and Caleb; her great great grandchild Julius; her sister-in-law Pat Reese; her cousin Mary Thompson-Gray; and her niece Barbara Simms-Murray. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
