He was predeceased by: his father Lester B. Powell; his brother James B. Powell of Waterbury; and his close friend Henrietta Goodson. He is survived by: his mother Mary Powell (Boone) of Waterbury; his brothers, Wilbert L. Powell and Robert Mann; his nephew Zakai James; his sister-in-law Joyce Powell of Waterbury; and his nephews, Robert Byrd, Marcus Powell and Antonio Powell. He is also survived by one uncle, several aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family.

“We are so sorry for your loss. Les took care of our son Tyron Hill AKA. Mooch for many many years and was his friend. We became friends with him also. He was such a good easy-going guy. We feel your pain as Mooch just passed on the 20th. They are in a better place now and they can take care of each other and hang out and have fun once again. We will miss him dearly.
