He was predeceased by: his parents, O'Neila Malena (Calza) and Joseph Malena; and his siblings, Frank Yots, Oranzo Malena, John Malena, Albert Malena, Rocco Malena, Josephine Palenza, Lucy Vyskocil, Jeanna Destefano, Rose Garland, Mary Gionfriddo, Anita Appleby and Carmen Florkowski.
He is survived by: his wife Terry (Falvo); his children, Patricia Tedesco (John) of Berlin, Lisa Crenella (Dave) of Berlin and Joseph Malena (Robert Hartmann) of Hope Valley, RI.; and his grandchildren, Tricia Burnham (Donald), John Tedesco (Angela), Nicholas and Matthew Crenella. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Farrell Funeral Home (110 Franklin Square, New Britain, CT 06051). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 at 9:00 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Paul Church (485 Alling St, Berlin, CT 06037). The military honors was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the St. Mary Catholic Cemetery (1141 Stanley St, New Britain, CT 06051).
