It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Joan (Gavitt) Thomas of New Britain, Connecticut, who passed away on October 24, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Albert Gavitt and Lois Gavitt (Connor); her stepmother Ruth; and her stepbrothers, Richard and Jack Guite.

She is survived by : her husband Philip H. Thomas, Jr. (Tom); her sons, Philip Thomas III (Barbara) of Farmington, Robert Thomas of New Britain and John Thomas (Ellen) of Westport; her sisters, Patricia Shick (Nelson) of Bonita Springs and Lynn White (David) of Bristol; and her sister-in-law Emy Thomas of St. Croix. She is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Church of Christ Congregational.
