She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Robert Lee and Alline Owens (Brocton); her daughters, Sharon L. Thomas of Middletown, Michelle R. Phillip (Thomas) and Jennifer A. Thomas of New Britain; her son-in-law Vernelle Phillip of New Britain; her grandchildren, Jakarie Thomas, Malik Evans, Nyasia Dailey, Ayanna Dailey, Harmony Stephens, Samiyah Thomas, Olivia Phillip, Malia Phillip, Shernelle Phillip and Trischelle Phillip; her siblings, Jesse Owens of Waterbury, Delores Arden Coggins of Middletown, Tyrone Owens (Linda) of Waterbury and Ronald Owens (Annie) of Sherman, Texas.; her sister-in-law Janice Johnson; her husband James A. Thomas; her siblings, Leiola Brathwaite Owens and James Robert Owens; and her brother-in-law Theodore Johnson (Teddy) of New Britain. She was also cherished by cousins, nieces, and nephews.
