It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Irena Figiel (New Britain, Connecticut), who passed away on February 21, 2025, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though Irena may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Irena touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Adolf Breda and Feliksa Breda (Ośmańska). She is survived by: her spouse Wojciech Figiel; her children, Greg Figiel (Krystyna) of New Britain, Joanna Gould of Windsor and Dorota Figiel (Sean Sperber); her grandchildren, Michael, Melissa, Steven and Aleksandra; her brother Zbigniew of Poland; and her nephew Łukasz Breda of Poland.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 27th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the New Britain Memorial-Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home (444 Farmington Ave, New Britain, CT 06053). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 27th 2025 at 7:30 PM at the same location.
